Faye MOXON |
Elliott has played for the club now for two seasons, his commitment to the club is of a permanent high stndard. Not only does he turn up to every training session, this season he has not missed a single game.
I am sure he and his family would agree that his talent may not necasarily mean that he will be the next Thiery Henry, dispite this the amount he commits in both training and matches is second to none. Always giving 110% on and off the pitch.
All this with the added challenge of a disability that makes communication with his teamates and managers extremely difficult. With both balance and co-ordination also being affected.
To play for our club with all this to contend with and with a smile that is always there to see. I'm in no doubt you will agree, shows extraordinary commitment to the club.
This years winner in the eyes of his coach is a very special person as he has to overcome many problems just to get on the pitch. The first of these is his mum,I remember one game when he turned up at half time and when asked where he had been the reply came back don't blame me my mum got the time wrong.
But in all seriousness this player turns up every week come rain or shine and is always smiling and keen to get on the pitch. I now think I have two shadows because every time I pace up and down the line he is right there tapping me on the shoulder asking me when he is going on the pitch. When he doe's go on the pitch he doe's so to the best of his ability. This player always wears a smile on his face and lights up the day when he turns up. The player I am talking about as most of you are aware has a physical disability which challenges him daily in ways many of us can't imagine. Despite this he chose to come and play for Westoning and join in with his peers.
Apart from his outstanding courage and determination he has been a role model to everyone in his team and football in general, by showing them that even with a disability you can still be a valuable part of any team and this has been apparent all year as he is by far the most popular player in the team and every coach has commented on this players determination and spirit.
I would like to thank this player for letting me have the privilege of coaching him this season as he has reminded me of what this club and sport is about, TAKING PART AND ENJOYING OURSELVES.

Perry WILLIAMS |
Alex GODDARD |
The winner of the Award for 2006-7 season was
Perry Williams. He has played for the club from day one, during that time he has become a key member of the team. This year he started the season well and then injured himself and missed nearly two months. He came back from that for one game and then managed to damage himself again. Neither of these injurys were football related!
He again missed nearly two months but returned and became the key team player he always has been. While he was out the team missed him a lot. He is a pleasure to manage and coach. He always strives to give his best for the team, always has a smile and the odd cheeky comment. To come back from this and everything else, to continue playing here for this club shows great strength of character and to become the person and footballer he is, shows fantastic commitment.
The Runner Up was
Alex Goddard. He has been through a lot this season, he played through an injury that eventually stopped him playing, he then needed surgery on his knee and we thought he would be out for the season and miss the tour. But he came back for the end of the season and took part in the tour.
